The Kinston City Council voted no – so we did the legwork and got the signatures on a petition.
Now there has to be a vote by the citizens of Kinston – Obama is running so we know there will be a large black turnout.
In one of the largest turnouts in recent history Nonpartisan elections wins by about two thirds of the total vote.
The DOJ is dragging it feet but there shouldn’t be a problem – NOT
Today we were informed that the citizens of Kinston were not smart enough to have Nonpartisan elections and save thousands of dollars because we didn’t vote for a person, we voted for a color.
I’m not sure who wrote this letter from the U.S. Department of Justice but this is the most unbelievable piece of crap in the history of Kinston Politics.
Nowhere does this report say the person has to be qualified just black.
From now on we should not waste our time voting – the DOJ can appoint the mayor and city council members cause we ain’t smart enough to vote.
